CU’s Cross Country Releases 2017 Schedule
MURFREESBORO, N.C.- Chowan Athletics and Coach Rick Heckler released the Men's and Women's Cross Country schedule for the 2017 campaign.
The 2017 Hawks, much like the 2016 squad will feature six meets splitting their travel between North Carolina and Virginia. Chowan opens the season with the Chick-Fil-A Invitational on September 2 in Salisbury, N.C. against a strong Southeast Regional field. The team will then travel to Petersburg, Va. to participate in the VSU Fall Opener the following week.
The Blue and White will take two weeks off before heading to Fayetteville, N.C. for the Monarch Classic on September 23.
After finishing 13th and 17th respectively in the 2016 HBCU Challenge, the Hawks will return for their seventh consecutive appearance on October 7 in Cary, N.C.
Chowan will then gear up for the Panther Classic hosted by CIAA for Virginia Union on October 13 as a last meet before the Conference Championships.
Wrapping up the season, the Hawks will travel to Salem, Virginia for the CIAA Cross Country Championships at Green Hill Park on October 26. With a new location, Chowan will build and execute a strategy for the championships.
