Zack Cooper named to NCCSIA All-State Squad
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The 2017 North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) College Division All-State Teams were released Friday. Zack Cooper was named to the Second Team as an infielder and as a relief pitcher.
On the defensive side of the plate, Cooper tallied 165 putouts and 47 assists. Cooper also produced on the mound with a 5-0 record in 14 appearances tallying three saves in 38.1 innings. Cooper posted a 2.35 ERA with the second most strikeouts (40) on the team.
Offensively, Cooper finished the season with a .326 batting average including a team leading 17 doubles.
Cooper has been named All-CIAA Second Team, D2CCA Atlantic Region First Team, D2CCA Third Team All-American so far thus postseason.
Nominees were submitted by North Carolina sports information professionals and selected by the NCCSIA members.
Founded in 2002, the NCCSIA is comprised of sports information professionals from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and independent institutions from the state of North Carolina. The purpose of the organization is to promote collegiate athletics at all schools. Membership is open to anyone affiliated with a college, university or conference located in North Carolina, and whose area of responsibility lies within sports information.
NCCSSIA selects all-state teams in the University (Division I) and College (Division II, III, NAIA) divisions for men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, volleyball, softball, and baseball.
