MURFREESBORO, N.C. – Just days after winning the CIAA Softball Championships, the Chowan University Softball team is headed to the NCAA Division II postseason for the third time in program history.  The Hawks were selected as the eighth seed in the NCAA Atlantic Region.

Chowan finished the regular season with a record of 36-18 and was a perfect 4-0 in the CIAA Softball Championships outscoring their opponents 31-2.  The Hawks will face the top-seeded West Chester on Thursday, May 11 at 7:30pm.

UVA-Wise will host the NCAA Atlantic Regional II part of the bracket in Wise, Va.  UVA-Wise and Shepherd are in the bracket with Chowan and West Chester.
