CU Women’s Golf Take 4th Place at the Brown Golf Intercollegiate

PINEHURST, NC – The Chowan University women's golf team completed the second and final round of play at the Brown Golf Intercollegiate Saturday afternoon. The Hawks finished in 4th place out of the 12 teams that competed in the tournament with Inecia Rolle tying for 2ndindividually.

Chowan sat in first place after completing round one of the tournament but fell short in day two to take home fourth. Assistant Coach Ellen Ordnung, said "We are pleased with our results as we are a very young team that is learning how to play when in contention for first place"

West Chester University shot a 336 on Saturday and finished in 1st place in the tournament with a two-day team total of 673. Franklin Pierce University followed with 344 as the team total for the second round and 689 as the two-day team total, earning them a 2nd place finish in the tournament.  Finishing in 3rd place was Mercyhurst University who turned in a team score of 346 on Saturday giving them a two-day team total of 693.

Camden Morrison from Franklin Pierce took home individual medalist honors after carding a 83 in Friday'sround. Morrison shaved 10 strokes off on Saturday to secure first place with a 156 two-day total.

After turning in a team score of 344 on Friday, the Hawks finished on Saturday with a team score of 356 for a two-day total of 700. After finishing in 1st place on Friday with a score of 75, Chowan's Incia Rolle finished tied for 2nd place after round two having shot a 85 and earning a two-day total of 160. Virginia Lane turned in a score of 83 on the second day of play, a two shot improvement over her first round score (85), finishing tied for 9th place. Gaby Rivera-Garcia shot a 91 on day two tying her for 23rd place individually. Reina Pozo scored a 193 total after day two while Chelsea Rose improved her score from day one, shooting a 133 Saturday afternoon.

Chowan returns to action on April 16th when they travel to Snow Hill, North Carolina to compete in the Conference Carolinas Championship.
