Late Goal Propels Hawks to 1-0 Win over Emmanuel
Box Score EMMANUEL, GA- The Chowan University women's soccer team used a late goal by Mackenzie Imamura to pick up a 1-0 road win over Emmanuel College on Sunday afternoon. The Hawks even their record to 1-1 with the victory while the Lions slide to 0-2 with the setback.
After battling through a scoreless first half, Chowan continued to apply pressure well into the second half. With less than four minutes remaining in regulation, after a shot byHarriett Pallett hit the cross bar, Mackenzie Imamura found the back of the net, propelling the Hawks to victory.
Chowan recorded eight shots over the course of the contest, with five on goal. Kimberly Surio notched two shots, both on goal, with six different Hawks recording shots in the win.
Emmanuel totaled six shots on Sunday, with three on goal. Jessie Denney led all players in the game with four shots and two on goal.
Olivia Borer made two saves for the Chowan Blue and White, leading the Hawks to the shutout win. Alley Howell made one save in the loss for the Lions.
Chowan returns to action on September 7th as the Hawks play host to Goldey-Beacom College. Kick-off is slated for 12pm.
