Academic Affairs celebrated the spirit of service by honoring Brenda Tinkham, Associate Provost for External Relations and Professor of Education, with the Faculty Excellence in Community Service Award on Tuesday, March 15. Tinkham was one five finalists for the 2015-2016 award. The others were:
- Sarah Bonner, Assistant Professor of Library and Information Science
- Lewis Nicholson, Associate Professor of Criminal Justice
- John Pond, Assistant Professor of Religion
- Aaron Rice, Assistant Professor of Music
Danny Moore, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, commented, “Dr. Tinkham and the other finalists are the types of people that Theodore Roosevelt had in mind when he implored an audience to ‘do what you can, with what you have, where you are.’ They have brought those words to light—day in and day out. They have been a catalyst for action, affecting change on campus and improving the quality of life in our local communities.”
