Record Enrollment
As Chowan announces another record-breaking spring enrollment, all indicating factors that the university utilizes for measurement show marked increases toward student success.
“The indicators Chowan uses to measure academic success have all moved in the right direction,” explained Chowan Provost Danny Moore. “We’ve seen an increase in the number of students on the Dean’s List and President’s List, an increase in the number of students tapped for membership in the honor society for first-year students, an increase in the number of students eligible for membership in the Honors College, an increase in the average GPA of first-year students, and a decrease in the number of students on academic warning.”
Total enrollment for Spring 2016 is up to 1,354 from last year’s 1,318. The addition of thirty-six students represents a 2.7 percent increase. It is the highest spring enrollment in the university’s history. The enrollment record is the result of the university’s continued focus on student success and the addition of sixty-seven new students.
