Academic Outreach Returns to Chowan
As part of Chowan’s mission of teaching, learning, and service, the university is relaunching its Academic Outreach Program, a program that operated under the guidance of John Hinton, Special Assistant to the President, from 2005 to 2011. Now guided by Brenda Tinkham, Associate Provost for External Relations, the program is a free service offered by the university to share the talents and expertise of the faculty with the public and private schools of the region. As noted by Danny Moore, Provost, “Chowan is dedicated and committed to helping students of all ages to discover a world of opportunities; develop independent, creative and critical thought, and achieve intellectual and cultural growth and development. With a faculty willing to donate their time and talents, this program will offer a wide range of knowledge and expertise.”
