SeniorFest Sessions Announced
In its ninth year, Chowan University’s premier annual senior adult event SeniorFest 2015 offers entertainment through humor, music and important information that will inspire, uplift and educate all in attendance. Humorist, composer and musician Pepper Choplin will be SeniorFest 2015’s featured presenter. Touted as “one of the most creative writers in church music today!”, Choplin promises to entertain through the joyful power of music and laughter.
In addition to the presenters, music, southern-style buffet lunch, door prizes, campus and fine arts center tours and more, this year’s breakout sessions offer exciting educational experiences.
Breakout sessions will include “Cancer Care-Hope for Tomorrow” with Dr. Michael Hopkins of Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital’s Hematology and Cancer Services department, “Before We Forget! Writing Our Family Stories” led by Chowan’s Writing Center Director Kerri Albertson, “Fun with Fitness” featuring Vidant Wellness Center’s exercise specialist and wellness coach Jason Jenkins and water aerobics and line dancing instructor Lisa Lane, “Red and Yellow, Black and White” which will lead a timely discussion about spirituality and race with the Chowan Campus Ministry Team, “Where There's a Will… There's a Way” with will preparation advice from the NC Baptist Foundation and “A Closer Walk with Thee” with Rick Jordan of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of NC searching for a deeper and more meaningful spiritual life.
SeniorFEST is a ministry to senior adults sponsored by Chowan University and the North Carolina Baptist Foundation. The registration fee for this day full of senior adult activities is $14.00 per person, which includes all programs and lunch. Please RSVP by Friday, March 13th.
