The Honorable Rev. Rob Lewis will be Special Guest Speaker at Chowan University’s Rouson Memorial Lecture Feb. 4th

Join Chowan University on Wednesday, February 4th at 11:00 am in Turner Auditorium in the McDowell Columns Building for the annual Reverend George T. and Luvenia B. Rouson Memorial Lecture. This year’s special guest lecturer will be the Honorable W. Rob Lewis II, former Hertford County chief district court judge for the past 19 years.

Lewis is a former District Court Judge for the State of North Carolina in Judicial District Six-B, which covers Bertie, Hertford and Northampton Counties. He was first elected in 1994 and served as Chief District Court Judge from 2012 until his retirement in 2014 with the merger of the districts.

Currently, Lewis is the Pastor of Conocanary Missionary Baptist Church located in Aulander NC. He is also currently serving as the interim Pastor for Indian Woods MBC in Windsor NC. In addition to serving as Pastor, he is serving as the Moderator for the West Roanoke Missionary Baptist Association which covers Bertie and Hertford counties.

He has served on many boards and organizations including 14 years on the Roanoke Chowan Community College Board of Trustees (eight years as Board Chair), past president of both the Hertford County and Bertie County chapters of the NAACP, and as former Chairman of the Hertford County High School Parent Teacher Student Organization. He is the founder and former advisor for Hertford County and Bertie County Teen Court programs, as well as many other boards and organizations including the Elks White Lily Lodge.
