The Graphic Design program is designed to provide majors with foundational knowledge in the principles of design as they gain in technical proficiency in the use of the software of the profession. Graphic Design majors take courses in graphic design, image editing, video editing, web design, packaging design, and the history of graphic design.

Internships for Graphic Design majors are available through various campus offices and through local businesses.
Learn by Doing
Internships are offered to majors through the gallery in Green Hall and by local art centers and museums. Interns work with the gallery director and learn gallery procedures through installing, maintaining, and uninstalling exhibits.
Graphic Design majors have recently completed internships at Roanoke Chowan Community College, Graphics Department; and at 50,000 Feet, Chicago, Illinois.
What can I do with my degree?
Graduates with a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design degree pursue careers in multimedia design, web design, publishing design, advertising design, art director, and creative director.
