Campapalooza, Chowan University’s highly anticipated 5-day academic summer camp, is now open for registration. We are excited to extend an invitation to your friends and family to join us for this immersive experience. Campapalooza is specifically designed for rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are eager to explore their academic interests while enjoying the college experience.

From June 23rd to 28th, participants will have the opportunity to live on campus, dine in our University cafeteria, and engage in exciting academic activities led by our esteemed university faculty through hands-on learning.

Campers can choose to attend one of the following camp sessions: 

– CU Catalyst: Calling all future scientists and those interested in pursuing a biology or medical career! The Chowan University CATALYST Program offers a weeklong immersive experience where students can act as scientific investigators. Through hands-on experimentation and thrilling science-based activities, scholars will develop their skills and present their findings.

– Design and Creativity: Unleash your creativity during this intensive week of hands-on activities. Explore various media and develop your personal style under the guidance of experienced instructors.

– Film and Pop Culture: Discover the intersection of modern film, history, and cultural change. This camp will delve into the ways creative individuals comment on film, culture, politics, science, and entertainment. Campers will have the opportunity to create a critical short film or podcast episode.

– Movie Making: Learn the fundamentals of creating your own film, from writing the script to editing the final product. Collaborate with fellow campers to produce a short film that showcases your creative talents and storytelling abilities.

– Music Beatbox Factory: Dive into the music industry and explore careers in business, recording, education, and performance. Campers will gain hands-on experience in a recording studio, receive instrument lessons, and learn techniques to create their own music.

– Robotics and Engineering: Building the Future: Unleash your creativity and design skills in this camp focused on creating structures and machines. From simple to complex, you’ll use everyday and specialized materials to bring your ideas to life.

– The Life Skills Bridge to College: Experience a one-week college sampler camp where you’ll get a taste of dorm life, dining in the cafe, applying for college, accessing scholarships and financial aid, time management, choosing a major, and more. Explore university facilities and services, understand athletic requirements and NCAA rules, and immerse yourself in the history, culture, and climate of a university.
