History, Public History, B.S.

Chowan University offers a specialized track for Public History, great for students looking for specific history-related jobs such as museum curators, historical guides or archival researchers. Historical Murfreesboro and its proximity to the Lost Colony, Jamestown and Williamsburg make it a perfect place to study applied history! From colonial settlements, Revolutionary War battlefields, and Civil War re-enactments, history comes to life right before your eyes at Chowan University in classroom lectures, through competitive internships, and in conference presentations!

Degree Requirements
The department boosted my maturity level from that of a high school kid to that of a young adult capable of conquering all of the challenges that life will inevitably throw your way. Constantly being around like-minded scholars only bettered and sharpened my mind. The History Department gifted me with professors who pushed me and supported me and with classmates that I will be friends with for life.
