Drama minor
Chowan University offers a 21 credit-hour drama minor intended to support the student who has an interest in or a passion for the theatre. The minor includes a variety of courses to train and educate those who enjoy working onstage or backstage. Drama minors can take courses in acting, voice, playwriting, Shakespeare, musical theatre, technical theatre, and more. Students can also earn credit hours by participating onstage or backstage in University productions offered each semester.

Drama is derivative from the Greek word meaning “to do,” and at Chowan University, students have the opportunity to do it all. Students work backstage, onstage, and in various administrative capacities.

Chowan is driven by a dual purpose. First, it exists to provide opportunities for artistic and creative expression as well as intellectual exploration. It allows students to discover their unique talents and foster their innate creative abilities.
