Chowan's Kayla Robins Tabbed CIAA Pitcher of the Week

CHARLOTTE, NC - The CIAA released the CIAA Weekly Softball Report on Tuesday with Chowan pitcher Kayla Robins earning CIAA Pitcher of the Week honors. This week's honor marks Robins' fourth time earning CIAA Pitcher of the Week honors. 

Robins was tabbed CIAA Pitcher of the Week after helping lead her squad to a 5-1 win over UNC-Pembroke on April 12th. Robins picked up her 18th win of the season after holding UNC-Pembroke to 3 hits in the 5-1 win. The senior hurler jumped to lead both strikeout categories in the NCAA ranks after the game. She leads the nation in strikeouts (279) and strikeouts per 7 innings (12.4). She struck out nine UNC-Pembroke batters in her 18th win. 

Robins and the Hawks will complete a four-game road trip with stops at CIAA Northern Division opponents, Bowie State University on Friday, April 21st, and Lincoln University on Saturday, April 22nd.
