Chowan University to host 49th Student Art Exhibition

Beginning Thursday, January 24, 2019, at 5 p.m. with an opening reception, the Department of Communication Arts at Chowan University will host the 49th Annual Student Art Exhibition in Green Hall Gallery through Thursday, February 28.

The annual art exhibition features individual bodies of original works in a wide variety of media determined by the student’s artistic focus. Typically, 35 students participate in the event, showcasing the work of students representing all academic years. Types of artwork and projects included in the exhibition feature graphic design, painting, printmaking, sculpture, pottery, package design, screen printing, drawing, and digital media. With such a large variety, there will be something to appeal to everyone.

This exhibition is free and open to the public Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The opening reception and awards will take place Thursday, January 24, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Green Hall Gallery. Light refreshments will be available as patrons view the artwork and the Department of Communication Arts present awards to student participants.
