Eresterine Parker White Guidry will headline the Chowan University Reverend George T. and Luvenia B. Rouson Memorial Lecture on February 5, 2020, at 11 a.m. in Turner Auditorium of McDowell Columns Hall with the lecture titled, “The GLOW UP is REAL: How a country girl conquered the CITY!”
On January 16, 2020, Chowan University’s School of Education and Louisburg College in Education Degree Program signed an agreement that welcomes transferring Louisburg students pursuing a baccalaureate degree to complete their studies at Chowan.
Chowan University warmly welcomes Amber Simpson as the new Associate Minister. She resides in Murfreesboro with husband Scotti and son Martin. Her education includes an MDiv in Theology from Central Baptist Theological Seminary and a B.S.
Linda Hassell, Cataloger and Special Collections Librarian, retired from Chowan University in December 2019. Her position’s responsibilities included: performing original and copy cataloging and classification of materials in all formats.
On January 23, 2020, Chowan University will host the Impeachment Teach-in, an educational as well as an interactive lecture about impeachment in America’s past and present. This specific forum is designed to be a moment of public education, regarding an important current event.
