On Thursday, November 1, 2018, an intimate group of Chowan supporters and administrators gathered in the newly created Farris Prayer Room to dedicate the space funded by Mrs. Edith “Edie” Vick Farris in memory of late husband LTC (U. S. Army) Phil Farris.
Theatre@Chowan will present three performances of Rich Orloff’s comic play collection, Nothing Serious, on November 16, 17, and 18, in Turner Auditorium of McDowell Columns Hall on the Chowan University campus.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the event had to be canceled.
Chowan University will celebrate Native American Heritage Month November 14th, at 11:00 AM, in the upper level of Whitaker Library, with guest speaker Sheila Spencer-Stover also known as Firehair Shining Spirit.
On November 11, 2018, Chowan University, along with over seventy-five percent of counties in North Carolina, will collaborate with The Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (DNCR) to commemorate the centennial Armistice Day with a bell ringing ceremony.
Chowan University Department of Criminal Justice students visited Hertford County Middle School on October 15th, to encourage students to remain drug-free and focus on their education as part of the school’s Red Ribbon Week.
