When Chowan was a two-year junior college I earned an Associate in Commercial Art degree. Now employed since 1996 I have extended that into a Bachelor of Science degree in Studio Art. I was fortunate to have been encouraged and challenged by some great professors. My favorite part of working for Chowan University is greeting visitors and being the curator for The Wayland L. Jenkins, Jr. Fine Arts Center. Not only do I enjoy learning about the artists of the variety of works in the gallery when researching them, I also enjoy showing the Jenkins collection including the period furniture to the many guests and students who visit the gallery, and educating them about the collection.
