MURFREESBORO, NC –  Chowan University proudly celebrates alumnus and Hall of Famer Freddie Davis for being honored with the 2025 Alvin W. Daughtridge Lifetime Achievement Award by the Specialized Furniture Carriers division of the American Home Furnishings Alliance (AHFA), recognizing his remarkable career, enduring commitment to the furniture shipping industry, his unwavering integrity, and his vision for a brighter future.

Davis currently serves as a Board of Trustees Member at Chowan University. He was presented with the Distinguished Alumni Award in 2023, inducted into the Chowan University Athletics Hall of Fame in 2001, and named All-Conference during his tenure at Chowan (1979-1981). Davis’ recognition reflects not only his personal accomplishments but also the values of perseverance, character, and leadership that Chowan instills in its students and alumni.
