GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Association (IWLCA) released the 2025 NCAA Division II Academic Honor Roll and Conference Carolinas had 24 student-athletes honored.

The IWLCA honored 583 student-athletes from 82 different institutions on the 2025 IWLCA Division II Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.

Barton College led the way with eight individuals that were recognized while Belmont Abbey College followed with four. Chowan University, Converse University, University of Mount Olive and Southern Wesleyan University all had three individuals honored.

Seniors: Shya Gambrell, Elizabeth Heller, and Abbie Sutton were honored on this year’s list. Gambrell, Heller, and Sutton were named to the IWLCA NCAA D2 Academic Honor Roll after an exceptional academic year in the classroom. They each played in all 11 games this season and collectively accounted for 21 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers. The full list of IWLCA Division II Academic Honor Roll selections can be found HERE
