Boone Etches Name into Conference Carolinas Record Book with Historic No-Hitter
Chowan University junior pitcher Haileigh Boone etched her name into the Conference Carolinas record book this season, throwing the first no-hitter in Conference Carolinas Softball Championship history. The milestone came during a historic postseason appearance for the Hawks—marking their first-ever trip to the Conference Carolinas Championships and their highest win total since 2019.
In the same game, Boone also recorded her 150th career strikeout, becoming the most prolific Chowan pitcher in that category since Megan Vincent (’22). Boone finished the season with an 8-9 record and a 3.91 ERA, anchoring the Hawks’ pitching staff throughout the spring.
Her no-hitter and season performance capped off a remarkable run for the Hawks, whose resurgence on the diamond sets the tone for continued growth and success.
