MURFREESBORO, N.C. – Calliope James of the Chowan University softball team has been named the Conference Carolinas Softball Player of the Week, recognizing her performance over the past week.

This week, James was on fire at the plate, going 7-for-10 with a .700 batting average. Among her seven hits, the sophomore launched a home run against Elizabeth City State and ripped two doubles against Clarion. James racked up five runs, five RBIs, and three stolen bases over the Hawks’ last four games. She also picked up five walks. 

The Hawks softball team is off to a strong start at 5-1 overall and will be back in action on Friday, February 21st, at 3:00 PM at the UVA-Wise Tournament in Wise, Virginia.
