
CU Men’s Basketball Team Climbs to No. 9 in D2CSC Regional Poll
MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The CU men’s basketball team continues to make waves in the D2CSC regional poll, climbing to the No. 9 spot this week after holding the No. 10 position last week. The Hawks hold a solid 9-5 overall record and are 6-2 in Conference Carolinas action.
The D2CSC (Division II Collegiate Sports Communications) is an organization that recognizes and ranks the top athletes across NCAA Division II Sports.
Chowan remains at the top of Conference Carolinas in 3-point shooting accuracy, connecting on 39.2% of their attempts from beyond the arc.
Senior Daylan Askew continues to lead the conference in scoring, averaging 24.9 points per game. Through 14 games, Askew has accumulated 349 points. Cheick Traore anchors the Hawks’ defense, leading the team with 14 total blocks this season, averaging one per game. RJ Wilson leads the Hawks in both total and defensive rebounds, with 93 total rebounds and 66 defensive boards so far this season.
The Hawks will square off against the Lees-McRae Bobcats on Tuesday, January 21st, inside the Hawks Athletic Center at 7:00 PM.
