Everyone enjoys a love story! At Chowan University, it’s not just about earning a degree – it’s about forging lifelong connections. For Nora and Scott Sherwood, meeting at Chowan in 2001 was the beginning of a life journey together based on service. Both graduates, these notable alumni have dedicated their lives to giving back, whether through their work, their church, or their community.

After graduation, Nora joined AmeriCorps, a national service organization. For two years, she worked on building homes for Habitat for Humanity and mentoring at-risk youth. Scott, on the other hand, dove into nonprofit management right after graduation.

Today, the Sherwoods continue to live their mission of service in their church, contributing to outreach programs and supporting others in their faith community. In their own words, they feel incredibly blessed: “God has surely blessed us beyond measure!”
