Chowan University Welcomes Dr. Taylor B. Pruitt as Assistant Professor of Management
Chowan University is pleased to welcome Dr. Taylor B. Pruitt as Assistant Professor of Management. She is happy to be a faculty member in the Business Department. Dr. Hunter Taylor, Interim Vice President of Academic Affairs, is “thrilled to have the experiences and background she brings. She is already making connections with the students.”
This is Dr. Pruitt’s first time working with college students. She had the rare opportunity of teaching in Georgia, her hometown, in a small private school housing all grades. During the same day, she taught English to elementary, middle school and high school students.
She holds High Distinction Honors from Liberty University where she earned her D.B.A. in International Business Administration. She also holds a B.A. in English from Young Harris College and an M.B.A. from Brenau University.
Dr. Pruitt is attracted to Chowan’s small, faith-based community where she will be able to really know her students and their stories. They are not just a number. Loving our new schedule, she said, “I’ve been a student in this schedule. I know what the students need. The fast pace of seven to eight weeks allows me to actually focus on what is important. Life skills are critical. In business you have to know how to communicate and to live and work with other people.”.
Dr. Pruitt is a world traveler, having visited Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, Czech Republic and Liechtenstein. Many of her trips have been without a companion. Her relationship with other countries inspired her desire for International Business. She is looking forward to teaching Global Expansion next semester. Her positive, caring attitude towards life long learning and our students makes her a great asset to Chowan.
