Rawls Museum Arts Hosts Opening Reception for Chris Whaley’s Exhibition ‘Liminal’
The Rawls Museum Arts in Courtland, VA, celebrated the opening of two new exhibitions on Saturday, June 15th. One of them showcased the remarkable talent of Chris Whaley, a Chowan alumnus, and the University’s Graphic Designer.
Whaley’s first solo exhibition, titled ‘Liminal,’ is currently on display in the Francis Gallery of the Rawls Museum. His captivating digital art offers a fresh and thought-provoking perspective on the possibilities of modern art. The exhibition has already garnered significant attention, drawing over one hundred art enthusiasts to the opening reception.
Expressing his gratitude, Chris Whaley said, “Thank you to everyone who came out to support my first-ever show, and a special thank you to the Rawls Museum for giving me the opportunity.”
The ‘Liminal’ exhibition will be open for public viewing until July 18th, providing ample time for art enthusiasts and the local community to experience Whaley’s unique artistic vision. Additionally, Chowan University alumna Zoe Beale ’18 recently assumed the role of Executive Director and Curator at the Rawls Museum, further strengthening the connection between the university and the arts community and providing this opportunity.
