Chowan University's Marquise Lanier was tabbed the Conference Carolinas Baseball Player of the Week, while Barton College's Jakob Ryan was tabbed the Conference Carolinas Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played Mar. 18-24, the Conference announced today.

A senior from Warsaw, Va., Lanier paced the Hawks to a 2-2 record last week, which included a 2-1 series win over No. 17 Mount Olive in Conference Carolinas play. Lanier notched his second POTW award after hitting .500 with eight hits, including seven extra-base hits (2b, 6 HR), with 14 RBI and 11 runs scored. Lanier's best game came in a 13-6 game one win over Mount Olive, as he went 3-for-4 with two homers, four RBI and four runs scored.

A junior from Carrollton, Va., Ryan made two appearances and pitched 11 innings to post a 1-0 record with a .82 ERA last week. Ryan pitched two innings and give up three hits with three strikeouts in a narrow 6-5 loss to Queens (NC). Ryan then pitched nine innings with 17 strikeouts and seven scattered hits, one walk and one earned run in a 7-1 complete game win over King.

Jakob Rolly (Belmont Abbey) – Batted .563 with nine hits and nine RBI in five games.
Jacob Marocs (Barton) – Batted .500 with nine hits and two RBI in four games.

Trey Pate (Mount Olive) – 0-1 record with a save in three innings pitched with four strikeouts and 9.00 ERA in three appearances.
Tucker Burgess (North Greenville) – 2-0 record with eight innings pitched with 11 strikeouts and 2.25 ERA in two appearances.
Sam High (Belmont Abbey) – 1-0 record with seven innings pitched with six strikeouts and 2.57 ERA in one appearance.
Wyatt Beakler (Chowan) – 1-0 record with seven innings pitched with six strikeouts and 1.29 ERA in one appearance.
Cooper Murphy (Emmanuel) – 1-0 record with seven innings pitched with eight strikeouts and 0.00 ERA in one appearance.
