Women's Basketball Ends on Winning Note

SPARTANBURG, SC - The women's basketball team ended the 2006-07 season on a winning note after beating Brevard College 67-57 at the All Star Independent Classic hosted by Converse College. 

The Hawks took control early in the game, taking a 13 point lead into halftime. Although Brevard battled to keep it close the damage from the first half was too much for them to overcome. 

AJ O'Bannion scored a season-high 24 points while Joi Hazel, playing in her final game for the program, scored 18 points. Rachel Wood scored 6 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, and dished out 3 assists coming off the bench.

The Hawks shot 52% from the floor in the win. 

Chowan wrapped up the season at 14-15 overall, breaking their seven consecutive winning season streak.
