Drop Game to #1 Southern Wesleyan University

FRANKLIN
SPRINGS, GA - The women's basketball team suffered a
78-66 loss at the hands of #1 seeded Southern Wesleyan
University this evening. The Hawks who entered the game
as the #4 seed, beat #5 Tennessee Temple to advance to
tonight's semi-finals of the NCCAA South Region
Tournament.
Chowan was
down by 20 points at half time but scored 49 second half
points to pull within 6 points of SWU late. Chowan shot
8-14 from beyond the three point arch in the second half
and saw five players score in double figures. Lauryn
Perry paced Chowan scoring 17 points while Alicia
McMorris had 12 points. After scoring a career high in
last night's win, AJ O'Bannion notched a double-double
with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Rachel Wood and Tameka
Christopher each scored 10 points in the loss.
Chowan falls
13-14 after tonight's loss. They will wrap at their 2007
campaign at the All Star Independent Classic at Converse
College on Friday. They will play North Greenville
College at 4:00pm in the opening round.
