Basketball Beats Apprentice in Final Regular Season Game

MURFREESBORO
- The men's basketball team moved to 11-14 on the
year after beating Newport News Apprentice School 84-70
this afternoon. The Hawks took control early in the game
and never gave up the lead.
Chowan shot
55% form the floor in the game, hitting 29 of 53 shots
taken and hit 75% of their foul shots. Marcus Artis
paced the Hawks with a game high 22 points. He also had
8 rebounds, 4 steals, and 1 assist. Three other Hawks
scored in double figures with Jaleel Nelson netting 15
points, Montino Williams chipping in 13 and Trayvon
Lathan scoring 11 points. Lathan also had 7 assists and
5 rebounds in the game.
For
Apprentice, who falls to 4-18 after today, Termaine
Trotten had 22 points. Chowan will participate in the
NCCAA South Region Tournament. Pairings will be
announced next week with the tournament set to begin on
March 5th.
