Falls at St. Andrews in Extra Innings

LAURINBURG,
NC - The baseball team suffered their first loss of 2007
after losing 5-4 to St. Andrews College. St. Andrews'
Matt Harkness hit a walk off homerun to lead off the
bottom of the 13th inning to end the marathon game.
Today's event was originally scheduled to be a
doubleheader but due to the length of game one, the
second game was canceled.
Bryan Hill
started the game, throwing 6 innings, scattering 5 hits,
3 runs, and striking out 2 St. Andrews' batters. Brandon
Hamlett picked up the loss in relief and moves to 1-1 on
the year. He gave up 4 hits over 6 innings while
striking out 5 batters.
PJ Sadler
paced the Hawks at the plate after going 4-6 with 2 RBI.
Matt Bullock and Joey Ryder each collected 2 hits in the
Hawks first loss of the season.
Chowan will
host Virginia Intermont in a doubleheader on Saturday at
12:00pm.
