Overtime to Beat Apprentice

MURFREESBORO
- It took an overtime period but the Hawks walked off
the court as winners tonight after beating Newport News
Apprentice School (15-6) 54-51. The Hawks used a 42%
shooting performance and seven three pointers to help
solidify the win and improve to 11-13 on the year.
Playing in
her final home game of the season, Lauryn Perry paced
Chowan with 15 points and was 3-6 from beyond the three
point arch. Eight players scored for the Hawks with
Alicia McMorris netting 9 points and senior Joi Hazel,
also playing in her final home game of the year, chipped
in 8 points.
The Hawks
won the battle under the boards out rebounding
Apprentice 42 to 39 in the game. They also held the
Builders to 31% shooting on 16 of 52 shots.
The Hawks
will travel to Allen University on Saturday for a 4:00pm
game.
