Hawks
Hold off Southern Virginia for Win at Home

MURFREESBORO
- Five Hawks scored in double figures as they held on to
beat Southern Virginia with a final score of 92-85 this
afternoon at the Helms Center.
The Knights
hit 17 three pointers but the Hawks were too much down
low, winning the battle of the boards 41 to 27. Trayvon
Lathan paced Chowan with 17 points and 7 boards. He also
had 4 assists and 4 steals while Deon Tynes scored 15
points and had 4 assists off the bench. Lando Morrison
had 14 points and 9 rebounds while Marcus Artis and
Montino Williams chipped in 11 points each in the win.
Chowan shot
54% from the floor (33-61) and hit 7 out of 13 three
pointers put up. Both Aaron Scott and Chris Kenon were
2-2 from three point land in the game.
Chowan
improves to 10-13 after today's win while SVU falls to
9-17 overall. The Hawks will travel to Frances Marion on
Monday for a 7:30pm game. They will play their final
home game of the season next Saturday when they host the
Apprentice School at 2:00pm.
