Bounce Back with Win Over UNC-Pembroke

PEMBROKE, NC
- The men's basketball team ended a two-game losing skid
with a 76-64 win over host-team UNC-Pembroke this
afternoon. The Hawks' Chris Kenon earned All-Tournament
Team after scoring 24 points over two games played at
the UNC-Pembroke Classic.
Chowan lost
at home to the Braves 64-61 earlier this season but
gained their revenge today with the 12-point win. The
Hawks scored 26 points from the charity stripe, which
turned out to be the difference in the game.
After taking
a 36-21 first half lead the Hawks jumped out to a 20
point lead with 13:17 to play in the game. Chowan hit a
solid 17 out of 21 foul shots in the second half to keep
the Braves at bay. Roderick Ramsay paced the Hawks with
17 points, 15 of which came in the second period. Kenon
notched 14 points to go with 3 assists and 3 steals.
Trayvon Lathan netted 12 points while Montino Williams
chipped in 11 points in the win.
Chowan, who
improved to 5-7 on the year after today's win,
will travel to Millersville on Wednesday for a 7:30pm
game. Millersville currently sits at 9-1 on the year.
