Soccer Plays to Tie with Erskine

MURFREESBORO
- After trailing 3-0 at the half, Ashley Bradford's
three second half goals helped the Hawks force two
overtime periods. Bradford's three-goal performance
today marks her third on the season.
Erskine
struck first in the match, scoring in the 10th minute
off of a rebound. Erskine's Anna Weldon score back to
back goals in the 19th and 44th minutes to give her team
a 3-0 lead at halftime. Chowan cut the lead to 3-1 after
Bradford netted her first goal in the 48th minute on an
assist from Meredith McCarthy. Four minutes later
Bradford scored goal number two to bring Chowan within
one goal's difference of the Flying Fleet. Down 3-2,
Bradford struck for her third goal in the 79th minute to
tie the game at 3-3, forcing the overtime period.
Two overtime
periods proved to be scoreless for both teams and they
walked away with a 3-3 tie. Chowan moves to 7-4-2 on the
season. They will travel to Converse College on Saturday
for a 12:00pm match.
