Women's Soccer Holds off Methodist for Win

MURFREESBORO - Ashley Bradford's unassisted goal in the 30th minute of the match lifted the Hawks to a 1-0 shut out victory over visiting Methodist College. Bradford split two defenders and beat the keeper for the game-winning goal. 

Chowan's defense helped keep Methodist out of the goal day with Tiffany Lee getting 8 saves and the shut out. Chowan out shot the Monarchs 17 to 16 in the match, including a 10 to 4 shot lead at the half. Clara Danzeisen had 7 shots to pace Chowan while Bradford had 2 shots and with her game-winning goal. 

Chowan improves to 7-4-1 overall while Methodist moves to 7-3 on the season. Chowan will host Erskine College tomorrow at 4:00pm. The men's team will play Erskine at 2:00pm.
