Men's Soccer Drops Road Match at Guilford

GREENSBORO, NC - The men's soccer team fell to 0-8-1 on the year after a 3-0 road loss to Guilford College this afternoon. The Quakers held Chowan to 2 shots in the match while collecting 25 of their own. 

The game was at a 0-0 stalemate after 45 minutes of play. It was a defensive battle on both ends of the field as freshman goalkeeper Josh Cenci picked up 6 of his 9 saves in the game in the period. Chowan's defense held tough through 5 Guilford corner kicks and scoring opportunities in the first period.

Guilford erased their zero on the scoreboard in the 54th minute of the match to take a 1-0 lead on Chowan. They added two more unanswered goals in the 68th and 69th minutes to take a 3-0 lead and eventual win over the visiting Hawks. 

Chowan will host Erskine College on Wednesday at 2:00pm for their next match.
