Hawks Handle Builders on the Road

NEWPORT NEWS, VA - Four Hawks scored in double figures as they rolled to an 81-72 win over the Newport News Apprentice Builders. Tonight's win moves them to 8-11 on the season. 

Marcus Artis paved the way with 18 points on a 9-11 shooting performance. The senior also grabbed 6 rebounds in the win. Freshmen duo Lando Morrison and Jaleel Nelson chipped in 14 points each while Montino Williams had 13 points and 3 steals. Trayvon Lathan was held to single digit scoring on the night but dished out a team-high 7 assists.

The Hawks shot 58% (29-50) from the floor in the game while holding the Builders to 41% on the night. Chowan won the battle under the basket as they grabbed 31 rebounds to the Builders 23 team rebounds. 

Chowan will host the University of Charleston (WV) on Monday, Feb. 5th at 7:30pm in their next match up.
