Pours in 26 but Hawks Fall on the Road

ELIZABETH
CITY, NC - Despite Lauryn Perry's 26 points off the
bench the Hawks fell to Elizabeth City State University
82-66 on the road. The loss drops them to 8-11 on the
season.
Perry and
fellow guard Alicia McMorris combined efforts from the
three point line to hit 8 of 9 from beyond the arc in
the game. Perry was a perfect 4-4 while McMorris nailed
4 out of 5 three pointers. Elizabeth City's post play
was the difference in the game as they grabbed 40 total
rebounds, 27 of which were on the offensive end of the
court. The Vikings scored 52 of their 82 total points in
the paint and notched 28 second chance points. Chowan
mustered 30 boards in the game with AJ O'Bannion and
Monica Beck getting five apiece to lead their team.
Chowan shot
45% from the floor in the game (24-53) but turned the
ball over 38 times. O'Bannion had 13 points to go with
her 5 rebounds while McMorris chipped in 12 points.
The Hawks
will host Claflin University (SC) on Saturday at 3:00pm.
