Baseball Splits Afternoon Play
March 6, 2003

MURFREESBORO - The Braves moved to 6-5 on the season after splitting with Southern Virginia College this afternoon, 8-7 and 10-3. The Braves won the first game 8-7 with Brandon Manuel picking up the win, moving him to 3-0 on the season. Kenny Bragg had two hits, including a two-run homer. Jarrod Tanner, Nick Hagler, and Joe Thornburg each added two hits for the Braves. 

The nightcap was not as good for the Braves as they lost with a final score of 10-3. Jonathan Smith started the game but was quickly relieved by Nick Anders. Smith pitched 2/3 of an inning while Anders pitched the remaining 6.1 innings. The only Brave to get multiple hits was Matt Hill who was 2-3 from the plate with 1 RBI. Hagler, Thornburg, and Brian Haynie each added one hit in the loss.

The Braves travel to Ft. Meyers, FL over spring break to play six games.
