Pamela Scott Hired as Cheerleading Coach
at Chowan University
MURFREESBORO (May 11, 2011) - Chowan University has announced the hiring of Pamela Scott as Head Cheerleading Coach. Scott comes to Chowan with six years of experience as a cheerleading coach and three years as a dance coach.
Scott, a Franklin, VA native, is currently a ninth grade English teacher at Hertford County Public Schools. She received her B.A. in English from Hampton University, where she was a member of the Pirates' cheerleading squad. She is no stranger to the CIAA, as Hampton was a member of the conference during her tenure there as a student.
Following her time with the Pirates, Scott cheered for a semi-professional football team in Courtland, VA.
“The Chowan University Sapphires will continue to promote school spirit and pride with the highest level of athleticism, performance, self-discipline, and respect for the university and others,” said Scott. “I encourage positive attitudes, dedication, and enthusiasm.”
Scott and her husband, Alan, reside in Ahoskie, NC and have one daughter, Kenya LaShá, who is twenty years old.
