When I graduated from Murfreesboro High School, I was grateful to have Chowan as an option
as I embarked on my educational career.
My parents didn't have the means to send me away to school, but Chowan allowed me to stay
at home and work in the community. The thing that stood out to me about Chowan was quality
instruction and staff in an environment that wasn't intimidating as a larger university.
Chowan has a small, family atmosphere.
Chowan continues to draw students to a Christian based environment and nurtures its students
to become leaders who possess the skills, knowledge, talent and ethical values necessary to
reach their potential and flourish in a rapidly changing society.
I see Chowan University as an invaluable asset. Chowan is part of my heritage and has been
part of our community's history since 1848. Chowan also has a tradition of helping fulfill
the dreams of students who could not afford to attend college otherwise.
These successes could not have been possible without your support. We welcome you to visit
the campus to see your money hard at work! If you would like additional information or further
assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me at

Thank you for your continued support!
