Alumni & Supporters: Alumni

Hello fellow Alumni!

These are exciting days for our alma mater. Chowan is experiencing a resurgence of interest among our alumni and prospective students. Under our current leadership, Chowan has experienced significant growth and numerous campus improvements. Now is a great time to reconnect with the University. In order to move the institution forward, we need the participation and support of all Chowan alumni.

As a goal of increasing alumni participation and awareness, the Chowan University Alumni Association will be establishing regional alumni chapters in the coming year. Three initial chapters will be created to serve the Central and Tidewater Virginia areas along with the Triangle area of North Carolina. I encourage alumni to attend these social gatherings. These chapter functions will be a great opportunity to reunite with others, and for our younger alumni, these gatherings are excellent opportunities to network and meet Chowan alumni in the area. I hope chapter participation will foster a since of pride and build a spirit of enthusiasm for our graduates. As we build these chapters, please look back to this section of the Chowan website for periodic updates and information.

I would like to also encourage alumni to give back to Chowan. I know that many of us are still paying student loans and are not able to make a large contribution at this time. I also know that every gift matters, no matter what the size. Alumni participation is a key to the institution’s ranking among other colleges and universities. Please consider making a gift and encourage other Chowan alumni with whom you are in contact to make a gift as well. Your support is greatly appreciated and you can be assured that you are making a positive impact in the lives of current Chowan students.

A percentage of each sale will go towards the Parks Alumni Association Annual Scholarship Fund that provides an annual scholarship for a deserving senior.
