All new students enrolling at Chowan are required to attend Student Orientation Advising and Registration (SOAR). At SOAR, you will receive information about academic advising, registering for classes, and moving into your residence hall. You can also meet your future friends and classmates!

8:30 a.m.	Class Registration & Advising Packet Pick-Up - Mulberry Grove Lawn

9:15 a.m.	Learn How to SOAR! – Mulberry Grove Lawn

9:45 a.m.	Learn More About Academic and Student Life - Breakout Locations Why a Christian Campus Makes a Difference. How to Thrive in the Classroom: Academic Life at CU. More Than Just a Library: Academic Services at CU How to Use Technology to Maximize Your Academic Potential.

10:00 p.m.	College Life: The Practical Side-Parent Session - Mulberry Grove Lawn

12:15 p.m.	Take a break & have lunch! - Thomas Dining Hall Upon arrival, guests may purchase lunch tickets for $5.00 each.

1:00 p.m.	Do This & Get a Free T-Shirt - Chowan University Campus Get your I.D. made, finish important paperwork, learn about the campus, meet other new students, and get a free CHOWAN T-shirt!

1:30 p.m.	Academic Advising and Class Registration Information Session Your name tag and folder contains information about your meeting location. Parents are encouraged to attend this session about academic advising and class registration.

1:00 - 5:00 p.m.	How to Choose and Register for Your Classes Your name tag and folder contains information about your academic advising location. Parents will not attend the class registration sessions.

2:00-4:00	Get Housing Information, Check Out the Bookstore, & Grab a Snow Cone! Bookstore is located in the back of the Columns Building. Housing information (and snow cones) will be available at Hawk Island adjacent to the Columns Building.

2:30 p.m.	How to Parent the College Student-Parent Session Turner Auditorium on the second floor of the Columns Building

3:00 p.m.	Learn More about Historic Murfreesboro on a Trolley Tour Trolley tours will leave from the front steps of the Columns Building every 30-35 minutes.

3:30 p.m.	See a Residence Hall Room - Tours will leave from the steps of the Columns Building every 30-35 minutes.
