Admissions: International Students

Welcome! We are here to help you through the international student admissions process. You may contact the Admissions Office at enroll@chowan.edu. Before an I-20 will be issued, you must submit the following:

  1. Completed and signed application form. To apply on-line, click here.
  2. Official academic records (Certificate showing completion of secondary school and certificate from post secondary school of current work, including results of any examinations. Official English translations of the certificates are required.)
  3. Submit a TOEFL score.
    • The TOEFL may be waived for the following reasons: Student is a citizen of Great Britain, Australia, Canada, New Zealand or the British West Indies. The student has studied in one of the above countries or in the U.S. within the last 2 years and has a good academic record.
  4. An SAT or ACT is recommended for students who wish to be considered for merit scholarships. College Board code is 5107 and ACT code 3084.
  5. Submit an official bank statement mailed directly from applicant's bank verifying that the student has sufficient funds to pay for tuition, room, board, and fees at Chowan University for one academic year. The funds must be translated into dollars.
  6. Pay the $100 advance tuition deposit

In order to allow adequate processing time, international applicants should complete the application process at least 90 days prior to the beginning of the semester they plan to enroll.
