Bachelor of Science in Social Sciences The Bachelor of Science in Social Sciences uses an interdisciplinary approach to provide students with the skills and knowledge essential to future educational and/or vocational plans.

To be eligible for admission, prospective students must have an associate's degree or have completed a minimum of 64 credit hours from an accredited college or University. Chowan accepts credit earned through the College Level Examination Program (CLEP) prior to enrollment and through the end of the first credit of enrollment. Veterans who submit acceptable military records of educational experience or training during their service may receive academic credit consistent with the most current guidelines of the American Council on Education.

All Students must complete a minimum of 124 credit hours, 36 of which must be completed at Chowan. Credit hours taken at a Chowan off-campus site cannot exceed 60 credit hours. Students may take an unlimited number of credit hours, to include both traditional in-class and online classes, through Chowan's main campus.
