Music
Music Education, Directed Student Teaching
If you choose to major in Music Education, you will complete 15-weeks of Directed Student Teaching during your last semester in our program. During your student teaching experience, you will be placed in a North Carolina Public School where you will work closely with a certified music teacher. In addition to assisting the teacher, you will teach classes and direct rehearsals while your cooperating teacher observes you and offers you helpful suggestions.
Music Industry Internship
If you major in Music with an emphasis in Music Industry, you will complete an internship at the conclusion of the program in which you will spend 140 clock hours in a music-related business. Our students have interned in recording studios, radio stations, and audio sales and installation firms. During your internship, you will get hands-on experience under the supervision of a music industry professional.
