Education:
Gregory Parker received his Bachelor of Music Education in Voice and his Performer's Certificate in Voice from Samford University. He received the Master of Music degree in Music Ministry from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Voice Performance from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. Dr. Parker joined the Chowan University faculty in 2004.

"As a composer, I find the Chowan community to be open to the free expression of new musical ideas. Our New Music Day concert series is helpful in getting new music performed and appreciated. I also enjoy giving organ concerts at Murfreesboro United Methodist Church, demonstrating historical period instruments for various civic groups around the area, and directing the Meherrin Chamber Orchestra. As a resident of Murfreesboro, I enjoy bicycling around the campus, the scenic areas around Lake Vann, and the Historic District of Murfreesboro."
Education:
James M. Guthrie received the Bachelor of Music, Master of Music, and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees in Composition from the Louisiana State University.
Dr. Guthrie joined the Chowan University faculty in 2005.

Charles Hulin received his Bachelor of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees in piano performance from The Peabody Conservatory of Music, and his Master of Music degree in piano performance from The Juilliard School of Music. Dr. Hulin joined the Chowan University faculty in 2007.

Michael Butrico received the Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from the University of Central Florida and the Master of Music degree in Trombone Performance from the College-Conservatory of Music of the University of Cincinnati. Mr. Butrico joined the Chowan University faculty in 2007.

Since I am originally from neighboring Gates County, it's a real joy to remain in this area and be able to do what I love: teaching, performing and accompanying."

Paula Pressnell earned the Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance cum laude from Salem College. Mrs. Pressnell joined the Chowan University faculty in 2005.
