EuGene Louis Van Roy
Instructor of Graphic Communication |
"Having taught at and attended large Midwest colleges and universities, the cultural differences at Chowan have made a significant impact on my philosophy of education. It is a very wonderful experience when you walk across our campus and students feel comfortable stopping to converse with instructors on topics that range from their academia experience to just the simple philosophy of the weather. It is also an enjoyable experience in the smaller class sizes so that I get to know my students. Because of this, I am able to work with each student on a more one-on-one basis. I have experienced that when students know that an instructor cares for them as a whole individual, they strive to achieve higher expectations".
Education:
EuGene Louis Van Roy received his Bachelor of Science degree in Vocational, Technical and Adult Education with a concentration in Graphic Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie, Wisconsin. He received his Masters of Education degree in Professional Development from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. He came to work at Chowan University in 2006.
