Traditions. Chowan is proud of its many traditions, such as the graduation ceremony. Graduates walk down the Alumni Walk, through the Kerr Gazebo, and ring the university bell.

Legends. The Brown Lady is well-known on the Chowan campus. It is said that she returned from the dead to test the loyalty of the students.

Fun down the Road. Chowan students find many things to do in the surrounding communities. Activities, festivals, and places to see include:
